Windows 8 is the next version of Microsoft Windows. The fundamental goal with the new operating system is to create something that is equally well at home on an 8-inch tablet as it is on a powerful desktop attached to a huge monitor. For the first time, Windows 8 was demonstrated at the D9 Conference on June 1, 2011.
